Frequently asked questions
How do I restore my purchase?
In the app open Profile > Account & Subscription and tap "Restore purchases". Premium is tied to the account that made the purchase: sign in with the same Breathe In account you used when you bought it. If you try to restore with the same Apple ID on a different account, the app tells you the subscription is linked to another account. If it still does not work, write to us.
How do I cancel my subscription or change my plan?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. In the app tap Profile > Account & Subscription > Manage subscription, or go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. To change plans use "Change plan". Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. For refunds use reportaproblem.apple.com.
What is the lifetime purchase?
It is a one-time payment; it does not renew, has no end date and unlocks Premium permanently. You can bring it back on the same account with "Restore purchases".
How do I delete my account? What is deleted?
Go to Profile > Account & Subscription > Delete account. Your account, name, share code, points, slip records, friendships and watcher relationships are permanently deleted from the server; this cannot be undone. Your watchers and the people you watch are informed. If you signed up with Sign in with Apple, you are asked to sign in with Apple again during deletion. When you delete your account, we also ask RevenueCat to delete your customer record.
Not deleted: the counter, metrics and past attempts on your device; report records (which may be kept to prevent abuse); and your Apple subscription, which you must cancel separately in App Store settings. If you cannot access the app, send the deletion request to miselylab@gmail.com.
What is a watcher? How do I add one?
A watcher is a person you trust who can follow your progress. They get a notification when you reset the counter or choose to continue after a slip, and they see your name, counter, metrics, past attempts, points and streak. They cannot send messages.
- Give your share code to the person who will be your watcher (Profile > Account & Subscription, or "My watchers" in the Social tab).
- They enter your code under "Are you a watcher?" in the Social tab and send a request.
- If you accept, the connection is made. If you do not, nothing is opened to them; you can also decline and block.
You can have at most 3 watchers and one person can watch at most 3 people. The watched person pays (Premium is required); being a watcher is free. If you do not have Premium, or it has ended, your watchers cannot see your information (2 days after it ends). You can remove a watcher at any time under "My watchers".
How does the friends leaderboard work?
Enter a friend's share code to send a request; once they accept you are friends (up to 30 friends). The leaderboard has points, time and streak lanes. Points are based on your smoke-free day streak from the moment you create your account; days before you created your account do not count. Seeing the leaderboard needs Premium.
Notifications are not arriving. What should I do?
- On your iPhone check Settings > Notifications to be sure the app is allowed and that a Focus or Do Not Disturb mode is not blocking it.
- In the app check under Profile > Notifications that recovery stages, milestones and daily motivation are on. If permission was never asked, the "Turn on notifications" row helps; if it was denied, the "Notifications are off" row takes you to Settings.
- Friend and watcher notifications need an account.
- 22:00-09:00 is quiet time: notifications that fall in that window are delayed until 09:00 (for server notifications, based on the recipient's time zone).
- If you do not want details on your lock screen, turn on "Hide details in notifications".
How do I change the language of the app?
The Language row on the Profile screen opens your iPhone's Settings; choose the app's language there. You can change the appearance (light, dark or system) with the Appearance setting in Profile.
Will my data come to a new phone?
Your tracking data is included in your iPhone's iCloud device backup. If you set up a new phone from that backup, your data comes back. If iCloud is off and you have no device backup, the data may not come back. If you have an account, your account data (leaderboard, friends, watchers) is on the server; just sign in with the same account on the new phone.
How do I report or block someone?
For incoming requests use "Decline and block" or "Report"; you can also block a person from friend and watcher rows. You can see and unblock blocked people under Profile > Account & Subscription > Blocked people. A block also removes the friendship and watcher connection. Reports are reviewed; you can also write to us.
How do I reset the counter? I entered my quit date wrongly.
The "I smoked" button on the home screen shows a supportive message and asks whether to reset the counter or continue; if you reset, that attempt's statistics are saved to past attempts. You can correct values you entered wrongly (quit time, cigarettes per day, cigarettes per pack, time to smoke a cigarette) in Profile; if the pack price changes, update it in Profile.
Is this medical advice?
No. Breathe In is a tracking and motivation tool; it does not diagnose or recommend treatment. For decisions about your health, talk to a health professional. See the Terms of Use for details.
